TrueOS is an open source operating system based
on FreeBSD's development branch. TrueOS provides
a rolling release platform featuring the Lumina
desktop environment and the OpenRC service
manager. The project's latest snapshot, version
17.12, includes LibreSSL in the base system
(replacing OpenSSL), Bhyve virtual machine
support, and the latest drivers supplied by
FreeBSD's 12.0-CURRENT branch. "Notable changes:
over 1,100 OpenRC services have been created for
3rd-party packages, this should unsure the
functionality of nearly all available 3rd-party
packages that install/use their own services;
the OpenRC services for FreeBSD itself have been
overhauled, resulting in significantly shorter
boot times; separate install images for desktops
and servers (server image uses a text
installer); Bhyve support for TrueOS Server
install; FreeBSD base is synced with
12.0-CURRENT as of December 4th; FreeBSD ports
tree is synced as of November 30th; Lumina
desktop has been updated to 1.4.1."

The MX team has announced the release of MX
Linux 17, a lightweight distribution based on
Debian and featuring the Xfce desktop
environment. The new release is based on Debian
9.3 and ships with Xfce 4.12. "MX Linux 17 final
images are now available for download. This
release features the following: 4.13 kernels for
both 32-bit and 64-bit ISO images (yes, we still
have 32-bit); the 32-bit ISO image has a PAE
kernel for RAM usage above 4 GB; easily change
kernels, say to the latest Liquorix kernel or
downgrade to Debian Stable kernel (4.9) with MX
Package Installer; the latest updates from
Debian 9.3.0 and Xfce 4.12.3; all the antiX live
features, including persistence (up to 20 GB)
and remaster tools; automatic selection of
appropriate drivers for most Broadcom chipsets
(in most cases, no user intervention required);
updated packages - Firefox 57.0.2, VLC 2.7,
Clementine 1.3.1, Thunderbird 52.5, LibreOffice

Linux 4.4.0. Bodhi Linux is based on Ubuntu LTS
and features the Moksha desktop environment, a
fork of Enlightenment. The new version of Bodhi
Linux features several package updates,
including version 4.13 of the Linux kernel. The
project's release announcement states: "Today I
am pleased to announce the release of Bodhi
Linux 4.4.0. This is a normal update release and
it comes three months after the release of Bodhi
4.3.1. Existing Bodhi 4.x.y users do not need to
reinstall as the primary goal of this update
release is to simply keep the current ISO image
up to date. This release image includes EFL
1.19.1, Terminology 1.1.0, Ephoto 1.5, and Linux
kernel 4.13. As with every release in the 4.x.y
Bodhi series it is built on top of the rock
solid foundation that is Ubuntu 16.04."
