This is our 11th release this year, which is
intended as a fixing release.
There has been an increased amount of reports,
that people with RDNA3 and AMD iGPU's were not
able to get a graphical session on the ISO, this
has been fixed with adding xf86-video-amdgpu.
Besides that there are some fixes for the sddm
wayland session for KDE, which should be now
fully resolved. There are some more fixes with
the upcoming Plasma 6.2 release, which should
make the experience better.

CachyOS is a Linux distribution based on Arch
Linux. It focuses on speed and security
optimisations.
CachyOS September 2024 Release
This is our 10th release this year, featuring
improvements to performance, faster updates, and
other enhancements. The release comes a bit
delayed, since the CachyOS Team was at the LPC,
and therefore we couldn’t follow our common
release cycle.
We have started to optimize more packages with
PGO. In the case of LLVM and Clang, we have seen
a 10% performance improvement. Additionally,
packages like svt-av1, nodejs, and ripgrep got
optimized with PGO. We will work further to
optimize our packages and improve their
performance. Also, we have added cherry-picked
patches to glibc and gcc from clearlinux. This
provided an additional 1.5% improvement to the
gcc compiler.

KaOS 2024.09
KaOS is a rolling release distribution which
focuses on providing one desktop (KDE Plasma)
and applications developed with one toolkit
(Qt). The project's latest snapshot brings the
Calligra office suite into the spotlight as well
as an updated VirtualBox package. "More
applications are now ready to use Qt6 and
Frameworks 6, the big one now being Calligra.
Since Calligra is again actively maintained and
developed, it has returned to being the default
office suite for KaOS. Another one that is now
Qt6-based is Virtualbox. The UI of the installer
has been updated for quite a few pages. This
includes an option to choose either Calligra or
LibreOffice as the preferred office suite. You
will also see that the bootloader selection page
and sound backend page are more integrated with
Plasma 6 (through Kirigami). There also is now
an option in the installer to install with the
all-new filesystem bcachefs, it is still in
experimental stage, but is included in the
kernel build, and the needed bcachefs-tools are
available in the repositories." |

default as a new system utility. This makes it
easier to discover performance issues in your

Peropesis (personal operating system) is a
small-scale, minimalist, command-line-based
Linux operating system. The project's latest
version is Peropesis 2.7, introduces archive and
ISO management tools. "Peropesis 2.7 is
released. In the new edition part of the old
software was updated and several new software
packages were installed. The newly installed
software is designed to perform file system
archiving and ISO image creation tasks. In
parallel with the 2.7 release, a new user manual
chapter - Editing ISO image content was created.
New chapter provides an example of how to edit
the Peropesis file system using the newly
installed tools. New software installed: 1. cpio
2.15. cpio is a command-line-based tool for
creating, extracting and copying archives. 2.
Squashfs-tools 4.6.1. Squashfs-tools is a tool
for creating Squashfs type file systems.
Squashfs is a compressed read-only file system
for Linux. 3. xorriso 1.5.6.pl02. xorriso -
creates, loads, manipulates and writes ISO 9660
filesystem images with Rock Ridge extensions." |

Rhino Linux is an Ubuntu-based distribution
which offers a rolling-release upgrade approach.
Rhino features a custom meta package manager
which unifies Deb, Pacstall and Flatpak software
management. The project's latest release, Rhino
Linux 2024.2, includes a new theme and an
overhauled configuration wizard. "Our Setup
Wizard has just gotten a whole lot better, and
we offer something for both regular and power
users. We have added a signifcant number of
containerization options, a new package manager,
and even the option to add night shift. You can
now select these additional options in the
rhino-setup wizard: Nix, the package manager
(note: rhino-pkg/rpk does not currently support
