GhostBSD is a desktop-oriented operating system
based on FreeBSD. The project has released a new
snapshot which reduces its memory footprint on
live media. This release also removes the guided
partitioning option which would take over an
entire disk with a UFS partition. "I am happy to
announce the availability of the new ISO
21.01.15. This new ISO comes with a clean-up of
packages that include removing LibreOffice and
Telegram from the default selection. We did this
to bring the zfs RW live file systems to run
without problem on 4GB of ram machine. We also
removed the UFS full disk option from the
installer. Users can still use custom partitions
to setup UFS partition, but we discourage it. We
also fixed the Next button's restriction in the
custom partition related to some bug that people
reported. We also fix the missing default locale
setup and added the default setup for Linux
Steam, not to forget this ISO includes kernel,
userland and numerous application updates." |

variant of Puppy Linux has hit version 7.0. This
version continues to be built on top of
Slackware Linux 14.2, but it includes all of the

"Another stable release of Slacko64 Puppy Linux
is out. Slacko64 Puppy is built from Slackware64
14.2 binary TXZ packages, hence has binary
compatibility with Slackware and access to the
Slackware and Salix repositories. It is a 64-bit

(IA64) or AMD (amd64) processor. More

Kwort Linux is a CRUX-based Linux distribution
that uses the GTK+ toolkit and the Openbox
window manager. Its most prominent feature is a
package manager, called kpkg. The project's
latest version, Kwort 4.3.5, introduces updated
kernel, compiler, and package management
packages. The distribution's news page lists the
highlights of the release: "I'm very proud to
announce this new release which shows how the
project got to a very mature level. New goodies
included in the user interface, a few bug fixes
from the previous release and of course, the
latest stable packages. Let's talk a little of
what we have here: Linux kernel 5.10.1 - yes,
the brand new Linux LTS release. New toolchain
including glibc 2.32, GCC 10.2.0 and Binutils
2.35.1. kpkg 130. Mirror kdb files are now
included in the installation to avoid repeating
issues from the past. Latest browsers including
