"The FreeBSD Release Engineering Team is pleased to announce the availability of FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE. This is the third release of the stable/11 branch. Some of the highlights: OpenSSH has been updated to version 7.5p1. OpenSSL has been updated to version 1.0.2o. The clang, llvm, lldb and compiler-rt utilities have been updated to version 6.0.0. The libarchive(3) library has been updated to version 3.3.2. The libxo(3) library has been updated to version 0.9.0. Device driver updates to cxgbe(4), ixl(4), and ng_pppoe(4), and the new mlx5io(4), ocs_fw(4), and smartpqi(4) drivers have been added. The dwatch(1), efibootmgr(8), and etdump(1) utilities have been added. Various miscellaneous kernel, userland application, and library updates. KDE has been updated to version 4.14.3. GNOME has been updated to version 3.18.0."

Soren Jacobsen has announced the release of NetBSD 7.1.2. NetBSD is a lightweight operating system specifically designed to run on a large range of hardware and processor platforms. Version 7.1.2 is a security and bug-fix upgrade: "The NetBSD Project is pleased to announce NetBSD 7.1.2, the second security and bug-fix update of the NetBSD 7.1 release branch. It represents a selected subset of fixes deemed important for security or stability reasons. If you are running an earlier release of NetBSD, we strongly suggest updating to 7.1.2. Changes between 7.1.1 and 7.1.2: security advisory fixes - NetBSD-SA2018-003 remote DoS in IPsec (IPv6) and NetBSD-SA2018-004 remote memory corruption in IPv6; disable compat_svr4 and compat_svr4_32 by default on all ports; disable compat_ibcs2 everywhere but on Vax; remove svr4, svr4_32, ibcs2, freebsd from the module autoload list; disable LSRR (loose source and record route) and SSRR (strict source and record route) by default; amd64 - make the direct map non-executable...."

TrueOS is an open source operating system based on FreeBSD's development branch. TrueOS provides a rolling release platform featuring the Lumina desktop environment and the OpenRC service manager. The project's latest snapshot, version 17.12, includes LibreSSL in the base system (replacing OpenSSL), Bhyve virtual machine support, and the latest drivers supplied by FreeBSD's 12.0-CURRENT branch. "Notable changes: over 1,100 OpenRC services have been created for 3rd-party packages, this should unsure the functionality of nearly all available 3rd-party packages that install/use their own services; the OpenRC services for FreeBSD itself have been overhauled, resulting in significantly shorter boot times; separate install images for desktops and servers (server image uses a text installer); Bhyve support for TrueOS Server install; FreeBSD base is synced with 12.0-CURRENT as of December 4th; FreeBSD ports tree is synced as of November 30th; Lumina desktop has been updated to 1.4.1."
