The Amnesic Incognito Live System (Tails) is a Debian-based live DVD/USB with the goal of providing Internet anonymity for the user. The project's latest release, Tails 5.11, introduces zRAM for increasing memory capacity which should allow for longer sessions. "Tails 5.11 is out. New features: Tails now uses the zRAM Linux kernel module to extend the capacity of the computer's memory; you can run more applications or use your session for longer periods of time; Tails will handle more load before freezing and become slow more progressively; you can record screencasts using the integrated feature of GNOME, we configured this feature to allow unlimited screencasts. Changes and updates: update Tor Browser to 12.0.4; update Thunderbird to 102.9.0; redesigned the unlocking section of the Welcome Screen. Known issues: none specific to this release. Automatic upgrades are available from Tails 5.0 or later to 5.11. Tails 5.12 is scheduled for April 18."

"EasyOS 'Dunfell' version 2.7 has the driver's seat and is the flagship release. Almost all of the packages are compiled in OpenEmbedded, with the exception of a few large and difficult-to-cross-compile packages, such as LibreOffice and SeaMonkey - these were compiled in the running EasyOS 2.7 pre-release. LibreOffice and SeaMonkey are the latest versions, 7.1.2 and 2.53.7. Network management has been enhanced with ModemManager, which NetworkManager Applet and ModemManage GUI are frontends for. NetworkManager Applet is an icon in the systray and ModemManager GUI is in the 'Network' menu. The Linux kernel is 5.10.26. There have been some significant bug fixes since the previous release of EasyOS, including faster startup of a Linux distribution desktop in a container (without wallpaper corruption), Osmo stability, and the X.Org Wizard previously causing X not to start."

EasyOS is an experimental Linux distribution which uses many of the technologies and package formats pioneered by Puppy Linux. The distribution features custom container technology called Easy Containers which can run applications or the entire desktop environment in a container. EasyOS 2.5 introduces a number of new changes which are highlighted in the project's release announcement: "EasyOS 2.5 is the latest in the 2.x Buster-series, built with Debian 10.6 DEBs. As well as the DEBs, other packages are updated, including SeaMonkey 2.53.5, and the Linux kernel is now 5.4.78. There have been many infrastructure and utility fixes and improvements, including hardware-profiling for the CPU temperature monitor. The single most significant application change relative to the previous release is the new BluePup bluetooth manager, replacing Blueman (though Blueman is in the repository, so can be installed if needed). The Multiple Sound Card Wizard has been integrated with BluePup."

"New features: Tails now starts on computers with Secure Boot enabled. If your Mac displays the following error: 'Security settings do not allow this Mac to use an external startup disk.' Then you have to change the settings of the Startup Security Utility of your Mac to authorize starting from Tails. Changes and updates: Update Tor Browser to 9.0.9. This update fixes several vulnerabilities in Firefox, including some critical ones. Mozilla is aware of targeted attacks in the wild abusing this vulnerability."

Changes since 1.3: the base system has been upgraded to FreeBSD 12.1-p2; the automatic network interface setup has been improved - this includes better hardware detection and support for IPv6; the NomadBSD image size has exceeded the 4 GB mark - a Flash drive of 5 GB and above is now required; due to the bigger image size, Claws-mail could be replaced by Thunderbird; the NomadBSD setup now locks all kernel module packages to prevent users from running into problems when upgrading their packages; nomadbsd-chusr, which is a graphical tool for modifying user accounts, has been added; nomadbsd-sysinfo, which is a shell script to collect information about the running system, has been added; Zeroconf via avahi and mdns has been added...."
