"The Scarthgap-series is built with packages compiled in a fork of OpenEmbedded, and optimised for EasyOS, but a small package repository; only about 1800 packages. However, more packages can be installed via Appi, the AppImage manager, and Flapi, the Flatpak manager. There is yet another avenue for adding packages to Scarthgap; another Linux distribution can be run in a container and within that container there is access to the entire package repository of that distribution. Easy Scarthgap can run Easy Daedalus in a container, which means that you don't really need to run Easy Daedalus as a separate distribution."

NomadBSD 141R ZFS

NomadBSD is a live desktop system for USB flash drives, based on FreeBSD. The project has published a new update, NomadBSD 141R, which brings the base system up to date with FreeBSD 14.1. The release announcement shares the highlights: "Changes since 140R-20240126: The base system has been changed to FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE-p2. A hard link creation bug concerning unionfs has been fixed. A calculation bug which led to an overfull UFS root partition has been fixed. The fusefs module has been changed to reduce (and hopefully eliminate) timeout errors on unionfs. The NomadBSD tools have been ported from Qt5 to Qt6. Several small improvements and bugfixes." NomadBSD is available in UFS and ZFS flavours for multiple architectures.

Protection against malicious USB devices - If an attacker manages to plug a malicious USB device in your computer, they could run software that breaks the security built in Tails without your knowledge. To protect from such attacks while you are away from your computer, Tails 6.0 ignores any USB device that is plugged in while your screen is locked."
