The Amnesic Incognito Live System (Tails) is a Debian-based live DVD/USB with the goal of providing complete Internet anonymity for the user. The project's latest release, Tails 4.5, fixes a security vulnerability in the Firefox web browser and provides support for Secure Boot. "New features: Tails now starts on computers with Secure Boot enabled. If your Mac displays the following error: 'Security settings do not allow this Mac to use an external startup disk.' Then you have to change the settings of the Startup Security Utility of your Mac to authorize starting from Tails. Changes and updates: Update Tor Browser to 9.0.9. This update fixes several vulnerabilities in Firefox, including some critical ones. Mozilla is aware of targeted attacks in the wild abusing this vulnerability."

LibreELEC is a minimal operating system designed to run the Kodi media centre. LibreELEC runs on desktop computers, laptops and ARM-powered devices such as Raspberry Pi computers. "Team LibreELEC celebrates its second birthday (and international Pi-Day) with the release of LibreELEC (Krypton) v8.2.4 which brings minor bug-fixes and new firmware to support the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ hardware announced this morning. Highlights of the new Pi hardware include: A 1.4GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU; dual-band 802.11ac wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.2; faster Ethernet (Gigabit Ethernet over USB 2.0); power-over-Ethernet support (with separate PoE HAT); improved PXE network and USB mass-storage booting; improved thermal management. Improvements to WiFi stability and performance on the 3B+ are noticeable. In private testing over the last two months we have been able to stream typical HD media over a 5GHz network at 105Mb/sec without the buffering and dropouts seen with the previous (2.4GHz only) model, and even 2.4GHz speeds reached 50Mb/sec where the 3B struggled to reach 35Mb/sec."

The new release, FreeBSD 11.0, drops support for the ageing OpenSSH Protocol 1, adds wireless support for 802.11n, provides native graphics support for the operating system's bhyve hypervisor and an arm64 architecture port has been added. "Please note, as a result of the timing between the withdrawn FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE images being available before the official announcement and several last-minute issues being discovered, uname(1) will display FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p1, as the images were generated from a patch-level revision of the releng/11.0 branch. Users that have installed FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE from the images originally available on the mirrors or from freebsd-update(8) prior to the rebuild of the final release are urged to upgrade their systems to FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p1 immediately."
