Kubuntu 23.10 Beta

"The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the beta release of the Ubuntu 23.10 Desktop, Server and Cloud products. Mantic Beta includes updated versions of most of our core set of packages, including a current 6.5 kernel and much more. The default Ubuntu Desktop installer is now a Flutter snap backed by Subiquity. The legacy installer is still available in case of issues with the new installer. This Ubuntu Server image features the next generation Subiquity server installer, bringing the comfortable live session and speedy install of the Ubuntu Desktop to server users."

Kubuntu 22.04.3

"The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS Long-Term Support for its Desktop, Server, and Cloud products, as well as other flavours of Ubuntu with long-term support. As usual, this point release includes many updates and updated installation media has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded after installation. These include security updates and corrections for other high-severity bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Kubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu Budgie 22.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu MATE 22.04.3 LTS, Lubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu Kylin 22.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu Studio 22.04.3 LTS, and Xubuntu 22.04.3 LTS are also now available."

Version 23.04 of the Kubuntu distribution has been announced. The project's latest release includes the KDE Plasma 5.27 desktop and PulseAudio has been replaced by PipeWire as the default audio server. "The Kubuntu team is happy to announce that Kubuntu 23.04 has been released, featuring the 'beautiful' KDE Plasma 5.27 simple by default, powerful when needed. Codenamed 'Lunar Lobster', Kubuntu 23.04 continues our tradition of giving you Friendly Computing by integrating the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high-quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. Under the hood, there have been updates to many core packages, including a new 6.2-based kernel, KDE Frameworks 5.104, KDE Plasma 5.27 and KDE Gear 22.12. Kubuntu has seen many updates for other applications, both in our default install, and installable from the Ubuntu archive. Krita, Kdevelop, Yakuake and many many more applications are updated. Applications for core day-to-day usage are included and updated, such as Firefox, VLC and LibreOffice. PipeWire also replaces PulseAudio as the default audio server."

KUbuntu 20.04.6. The new media offers bug fixes and addresses some Secure Boot issues. The release announcement shares the following details: "The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS (Long-Term Support) for its Desktop and Server products. Unlike previous point releases, 20.04.6 is a refresh of the amd64 installer media after recent key revocations, re-enabling their usage on Secure Boot enabled systems. Many other security updates for additional high-impact bug fixes are also included, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Maintenance updates will be provided for 5 years for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, and Ubuntu Base."

The new release, 20.04.5, offers updated hardware support along with security fixes since the original 20.04 release. "The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS (Long-Term Support) for its Desktop, Server, and Cloud products, as well as other flavours of Ubuntu with long-term support. Like previous LTS series, 20.04.5 includes hardware enablement stacks for use on newer hardware. This support is offered on all architectures. Ubuntu Server defaults to installing the GA kernel; however you may select the HWE kernel from the installer bootloader."
