KUbuntu 20.04.6. The new media offers bug fixes and addresses some Secure Boot issues. The release announcement shares the following details: "The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS (Long-Term Support) for its Desktop and Server products. Unlike previous point releases, 20.04.6 is a refresh of the amd64 installer media after recent key revocations, re-enabling their usage on Secure Boot enabled systems. Many other security updates for additional high-impact bug fixes are also included, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Maintenance updates will be provided for 5 years for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, and Ubuntu Base."

The new release, 20.04.5, offers updated hardware support along with security fixes since the original 20.04 release. "The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS (Long-Term Support) for its Desktop, Server, and Cloud products, as well as other flavours of Ubuntu with long-term support. Like previous LTS series, 20.04.5 includes hardware enablement stacks for use on newer hardware. This support is offered on all architectures. Ubuntu Server defaults to installing the GA kernel; however you may select the HWE kernel from the installer bootloader."

Canonical has announced the release of an update to their Ubuntu 22.04 series along with updated official community editions. The new version, 22.04.1, include minor updates, fixes, and improved RISC-V support. "The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (Long-Term Support) for its Desktop, Server, and Cloud products, as well as other flavours of Ubuntu with long-term support. As usual, this point release includes many updates, and updated installation media has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded after installation. These include security updates and corrections for other high-impact bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. 22.04.1 also brings new RISC-V platform support, providing fresh images for the Allwinner Nezha and VisionFive StarFive boards."

Kubuntu is an official Ubuntu community edition which features the KDE Plasma desktop. The project's latest version, 22.04, features three years of support. This release includes some of the latest LTS software fro the KDE project, including Plasma 5.24. "Under the hood, there have been updates to many core packages, including a new 5.15-based kernel, KDE Frameworks 5.92, Plasma 5.24 LTS and KDE Gear (formerly Applications) 21.12.3. Kubuntu has seen many updates for other applications, both in our default install, and installable from the Ubuntu archive. Elisa, KDE connect, Krita, Kdevelop, Digikam, Latte-dock, and many many more applications are updated. Applications that are key for day-to-day usage are included and updated, such as Firefox, VLC and Libreoffice. For this release we provide Thunderbird for email support, however the KDE PIM suite (including kontact and kmail) is still available to install from the archive."
