"Tails 3.15 is out. This release fixes many security vulnerabilities. You should upgrade as soon as possible. Changes and upgrades: update Tor Browser to 8.5.4; update Thunderbird to 60.7.2. Fixed problems: fix Tails failing to start a second time on some computers; display an error message in the Unlock VeraCrypt Volumes utility when closing a volume fails because the volume is being used; fix starting Tails through the Heads boot firmware. Known issues: none specific to this release. To upgrade your Tails USB stick and keep your persistent storage: automatic upgrades are available from 3.13, 3.13.1, 3.13.2, 3.14, 3.14.1, and 3.14.2 to 3.15; iff you cannot do an automatic upgrade or if Tails fails to start after an automatic upgrade, please try to do a manual upgrade. Upgrades and changes: update Linux kernel to 4.19.37, update most firmware packages - this should improve the support for newer hardware (graphics, Wi-Fi); enable all available mitigations for the MDS (Microarchitectural Data Sampling) attacks and disable SMT (simultaneous multithreading) on all vulnerable processors to fix the RIDL, Fallout and ZombieLoad security vulnerabilities; update Tor Browser to 8.5; remove the following desktop applications - Gobby, Pitivi, Traverso. Thanks to the removal of these less popular applications and the removal of some language packs in 3.13.2, Tails 3.14 is 39 MB smaller than 3.13."

Disable Autocrypt in Thunderbird to prevent sending unencrypted emails by mistake. Update Linux to 4.18.20. Update Tor Browser to 8.0.4. Update Thunderbird to 60.3.0. Fixed problems: Fix the opening of Thunderbird in non-English languages. Reduce the logging level of Tor when using bridges. For more details, read our changelog."

The new version also supports working with VeraCrypt encrypted storage volumes, along with reading news feeds in Thunderbird. "You can now install additional software automatically when starting Tails. When installing an additional Debian package from Tails, you can decide to install it automatically every time. To check your list of additional software packages, choose Applications->System Tool->Additional Software. The packages included in Tails are carefully tested for security. Installing additional packages might break the security built in Tails, so be careful with what you install. To unlock VeraCrypt volume in Tails, choose Applications->System Tool->Unlock VeraCrypt Volumes. The integration of VeraCrypt in the Files and Disks utilities was done upstream in GNOME and will be available outside of Tails in Debian 10 (Buster) and Ubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish)."

Upgrades and changes: upgrade Enigmail from 1.9.9 to 2.0.7 which fixes some of the EFAIL attacks on OpenPGP; when starting Thunderbird for the first time after upgrading to Tails 3.8, you have to go through the Enigmail Setup Wizard again, your OpenPGP keys and your per-recipient rules are preserved. Fixed problems: fix importing OpenPGP keys from email attachments; fix the translations of the homepage of the Unsafe Browser."
