In Linux Mint 19.3, we're going a step further and we're trying to detect potential issues in your computer. If you're missing a language package, a multimedia codec, if a hardware driver or a new version of Linux Mint is available, this little icon will let you know and provide solutions."

Haiku R1 Beta 2
Haiku is an open-source operating system, currently in development, that specifically targets personal computing. It is inspired by the Be Operating System (BeOS). The project's latest release is Haiku R1 Beta 2 which introduces improvements to HiDPI support, introduces ports of several new open source programs, and input device configuration has been merged into one configuration tool. "Begun but significantly incomplete at the time of Beta 1, this release sees a significant advancement in support for HiDPI monitors (and UI scaling in general.) Unlike other operating systems which largely enact a 'device pixel ratio', that converts a number of 'internal pixels' to 'screen pixels', Haiku instead scales everything based on font size, and leaves pixels to mean 'screen pixels' in isolation. This also means that one can effectively change the UI size and scale on any display by changing the system font size, and everything else should adjust to match it. Network Security Toolkit (NST) is a bootable live CD based on the Fedora distribution. The project's latest release is based on Fedora 32 and includes a number of new tools and features for analyzing network traffic. "We are pleased to announce the latest NST release: NST 32 SVN:11992. This release is based on Fedora 32 using Linux kernel 5.6.15. This release brings the NST distribution on par with Fedora 32. Here are some of the highlights and new tools added for this release: A new NST WUI page for displaying Wireshark tshark Statistics Conversations has been developed - see the example: tshark Statistics Conversations page shown below. This page focuses on displaying network conversations between two specific endpoints in tabular format and results can be further analyzed with the NST Network Tools Widgets. One can choose a Conversation Type and Display filter to isolate traffic of interest. The table output also contains the ability to create stream display filters for packet capture decode analysis.
