Garuda Linux is a rolling, desktop distribution based on the Arch Linux operating system. The project's latest release, Garuda Linux 240428, ships with a number of upgrades, the most immediately apparent being the new Plasma 6 desktop: "The main focus of this release is certainly the already mentioned Plasma 6 upgrade which already arrived in the Dr460nized edition. Meanwhile, Sway and Hyprland received some major improvements to their respective editions as well. Also, FireDragon was rebased to Floorp, meaning we now profit from its interesting feature set. Lastly, our build system for the garuda repository received major updates, and the pilot phase for Chaotic-AUR infra 4.0 is supposed to start soon. As KDE 6 was released in February, the Dr460nized edition underwent some minor changes to how we create our desktop layout. Multiple plasmoids needed to be ported to KDE 6, which also caused some of them to be replaced with updated forks (eg. the original Latte dock window - title, appmenu, buttons - are no longer maintained and were ported or forked by other people)."

"The Ubuntu Studio team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu Studio 24.04 LTS, code-named 'Noble Numbat'. This marks Ubuntu Studio's 34th release. This release is a long-term support release and as such, it is supported for 3 years (36 months, until April 2027). In cooperation with the Ubuntu Desktop team, we have an all-new desktop installer. This installer uses the underlying code of the Ubuntu Server installer ('Subiquity') which has been in use for years, with a frontend coded in 'Flutter'. Be on the lookout for a special easter egg when the graphical environment for the installer first starts. For those of you who have been long-time users of Ubuntu Studio since our early days (even before Xfce), you will notice exactly what it is. Now for the big one: PipeWire is now mature and this release contains PipeWire 1.0. With PipeWire 1.0 comes the stability and compatibility you would expect from multimedia audio."

This release addresses some bug fixes to fortify the reliability and stability of RELIANOID. Cluster replication issues have been resolved, ensuring a seamless and consistent cluster environment."
