Code-named 'Zesty Zapus', Kubuntu 17.04 continues our proud tradition of integrating the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high-quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. The team has been hard at work through this cycle, introducing new features and fixing bugs. Under the hood, there have been updates to many core packages, including a new 4.10-based Linux kernel, KDE Frameworks 5.31, Plasma 5.9.4 and KDE Applications 16.12.3. The Kubuntu desktop has seen some exciting improvements, with newer versions of Qt, updates to major packages like Krita, Kdenlive, Firefox and LibreOffice, and stability improvements to the Plasma desktop environment.

We've just wrapped up a fun release cycle, and it's my pleasure to announce Rockstor 3.9.0. Our community has been really active and we've prioritized nicely to improve on a few different areas. Five contributors have come together for this release and besides working on new features and bug fixes, we made significant improvements to code quality. phillxnet has made a big enhancement to the disk management subsystem. I've made large code quality improvement to backend Python stack. MFlyer collaborated with me on that and took upon himself to do the same for all of Javascript stack. He made several ninja style contributions and helped fix many bugs. I'd say this is a nice release with some new stuff and a bunch of useful maintenance updates.

The FreeNAS Development team is very happy to announce the launch of FreeNAS 10 RELEASE and, at the same time, the renaming of 10 to Corral, a new name befitting what is also a radically new version of FreeNAS! With all of the new features in FreeNAS 10, as well as its entirely new look, we decided that just slapping a "10" into the release string simply didn't do justice to the giant evolutionary step we took with this release, nor has the version numbering scheme we've been using been increasingly accurate, since we stopped basing our release numbers on that of the underlying FreeBSD OS. "FreeNAS Corral" provides a more holistic description of this release and sets it apart from previous FreeNAS versions: It manages storage, containers, and VM services through one unified interface, making it the most powerful FreeNAS release yet. So, what you knew as FreeNAS 10 is now FreeNAS Corral!
