OPNsense is a FreeBSD-based specialist operating system (and a fork of pfSense) designed for firewalls and routers. The project's latest release is OPNsense 22.7 which includes an updated FreeBSD base and PHP 8: "22.7, nicknamed "Powerful Panther", features the upgrade to FreeBSD 13.1, PHP 8.0, Phalcon 5, stacked VLAN and Intel QuickAssist (QAT) support, DDoS protection using SYN cookies, MVC/API pages for IPsec status and Unbound overrides, new APCUPSD and CrowdSec plugins plus much more. LibreSSL flavour is scheduled for removal at the end of this series and will likely receive no further maintenance. Software failing to work properly starting with Tor will have its plugin removed from the flavour from now on to be able to keep updating the software to their latest versions in the OpenSSL flavour. The next major upgrade will automatically transition to the OpenSSL flavour, but we would encourage everyone to switch between 22.7.x for the least amount of possible impact."

FreeNAS 11.3
"We are pleased to announce the general availability of FreeNAS 11.3-RELEASE. The 11.3 series represents a year-long development effort and brings with it a wide variety of improvements and fixes. Changes since 1.3: the base system has been upgraded to FreeBSD 12.1-p2; the automatic network interface setup has been improved - this includes better hardware detection and support for IPv6; the NomadBSD image size has exceeded the 4 GB mark - a Flash drive of 5 GB and above is now required; due to the bigger image size, Claws-mail could be replaced by Thunderbird; the NomadBSD setup now locks all kernel module packages to prevent users from running into problems when upgrading their packages; nomadbsd-chusr, which is a graphical tool for modifying user accounts, has been added; nomadbsd-sysinfo, which is a shell script to collect information about the running system, has been added; Zeroconf via avahi and mdns has been added...."

GhostBSD is an easy to use, FreeBSD-based desktop operating system. The project has released GhostBSD 11.1 which is available in MATE and Xfce flavours. The new version features easy ZFS configuration the Whisker Menu for the Xfce edition, keyboard layout fixes and an independent GhostBSD software repository. "After a year of development, testing, debugging and working on our software package repository, we are pleased to announce the release of GhostBSD 11.1 is now available on 64-bit (amd64) architecture with MATE and Xfce desktop on direct and torrent download. With 11.1 we drop 32-bit i386 support, and we currently maintain our software packages repository for more stability. What's new on GhostBSD 11.1: GhostBSD software repository.
