"Zentyal Server 5.1 is based on the latest Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS and comes with the most recent versions of all the integrated software. Most important new features and improvements include: Linux 4.13 - Ubuntu HWE kernel with support for recent hardware and not vulnerable to Meltdown and Spectre; new IDS/IPS module; new FTP module; integration of SOGo 4.0; integration of ejabberd 17.07. In addition, this version comes with important bug fixes, usability and performance improvements, especially in Network, Samba, DNS and HTTP Proxy modules (see full changelog for details). Packages for Zentyal 5.0, 4.2, 4.1 and 4.0 will be released in the next days, providing an upgrade button on the dashboard."

The Slax project has published a new version, Slax 9.4.0, which contains mostly package updates and bug fixes imported from Debian: "Slax 9.4 final released. After a short testing period with no problems reported, I feel it is now the right time to release a new version of Slax - a minimalistic, fully modular operating system. This version incorporates all upstream improvements from Debian 'stable', adds several default applications and fixes several known bugs. File manager now understands file types, so it is easier for users to open files like images, PDF documents, and so on. On top of all that, Slax now includes one-click-to-install launchers, to offer additional software to users while keeping Slax size small. If the current approach proves useful, Slax could contain lots of icons for additional programs, which will be simply installed (automatically) when launched for the first time."

The latest version of the distribution, heads 0.4, is based on Devuan's Testing branch and makes an effort to reduce both the size of the live ISO and memory requirements. "heads has been rebased on Devuan Beowulf (Testing), which brings us current-day software and no planned obsolecence. Our new init system is SysV init combined with OpenRC. This is a modern approach to init and it's working quite stable. heads does not depend on Debian's live-boot/live-config anymore. Instead, we have a minimal way of bringup that is a lot more auditable than the thousands of lines of spaghetti shell scripts Debian is able to produce. This release also removes some big software like Evince, in order to replace it with more minimal replacements - in this case Zathura. More can be seen in the git commits of heads' build system."

This release comes with the brand-new GParted 0.31.0 utility which is developed by the same team: "The GParted team is pleased to announce a new stable release of GParted Live. This release includes GParted 0.31.0, patches for libparted for FAT file system operations, and other improvements. Items of note include: add support for changing UDF label/uuid and show UDF disk usage; rollback specific failed partition change steps; based on the Debian Sid repository as of 2018-03-20; Linux kernel updated to 4.15.4; libparted fixes check FAT32 crashes and resized FAT32 not recognized by Windows. This release of GParted Live has been successfully tested on VirtualBox, VMware, BIOS, UEFI and physical computers with AMD/ATI, NVIDIA and Intel graphics. Note that the X desktop did not display on old Acer Aspire laptops; the workaround is to select 'Other' modes of GParted Live and choose GParted Live."

Soren Jacobsen has announced the release of NetBSD 7.1.2. NetBSD is a lightweight operating system specifically designed to run on a large range of hardware and processor platforms. Version 7.1.2 is a security and bug-fix upgrade: "The NetBSD Project is pleased to announce NetBSD 7.1.2, the second security and bug-fix update of the NetBSD 7.1 release branch. It represents a selected subset of fixes deemed important for security or stability reasons. If you are running an earlier release of NetBSD, we strongly suggest updating to 7.1.2.
