MidnightBSD 3.2.0

MidnightBSD is a FreeBSD-derived operating system. A critical goal of the project is to create an easy-to-use desktop environment with graphical ports management. The project has published a new update, MidnightBSD 3.2.0, which introduces Ravenports: "Ravenports is available in MidnightBSD for the amd64 architecture. The initial installation process will prompt you to bootstrap Ravenports. This will initialize it in /raven/, and you will be able to install software packages using /raven/sbin/ravensw. By default, /raven/bin, /raven/sbin, and so on are not on the path. You can add them to the path to make running software in your shell easier. Please visit their website to learn more about Ravenports and find quickstart guides. You can choose either mports or Ravenports at installation time or use packages from both systems. Please note that mixing packages may have some complications, although they are installed in a completely different place from mports. There are various benefits to Ravenports, but a few are more updated packages and quite a few unique packages that mports doesn’t provide currently. For example, Ravenports has an updated Firefox package available. You will not see Ravenports presented as an option on an i386 install."

OpenMandriva 24.07 "ROME"

The OpenMandriva project has released a new snapshot of the project's rolling "ROME" branch. The new snapshot, version 24.07, migrates the Plasma desktop to version 6 and updates LXQt to version 2.0.0. "Switch to the KDE Plasma 6 desktop by default. Spins featuring LXQt (2.0.0 Qt 6) and GNOME (46.3). Also provided is a ROME Plasma 6 Wayland ISO, however we believe Wayland still not to be mature enough to replace X11 by default for most users. Please note the Wayland ISO in VirtualBox almost always will boot to a black screen and will not work. It works fine on most hardware and in QEMU with KVM. In addition to the normal wine Windows emulator, proton and proton-experimental - variants of wine that are typically used to run Windows games inside Steam - are now available as OpenMandriva packages. For the first time, this makes Proton available outside of Steam, without the need to install any non-free code."

CachyOS July 2024 Release

This is our 8th release this year, and we are very proud to announce a new optimized repository. Starting with this release, we are providing a Zen4 optimized repository. This repository will be automatically used at new installation for Zen4 and Zen5 CPUs, to provide the best performance.

The znver4 target provides a bunch of extra avx512 extensions and also other instructions. Clonezilla Live 3.1.3-11

Clonezilla Live is a Debian-based distribution used for disk and partition cloning. The project's latest release, version 3.1.3-11, introduces updated hardware support and brings Clonezilla Live more in line with Debian's Unstable (Sid) repositories. "The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2024/Jun/28). Linux kernel was updated to 6.9.7-1. Partclone was updated to 0.3.31. Removed package cpufrequtils from lists of live system. It's not in the Debian repo anymore. Removed thin-provisioning-tools from packages list of clonezilla live due to it breaks the dependence. Added package yq, and removed package deborphan in live system. Merged pull request #31 from iamzhaohongxin/patch-1. Update zh_CN.UTF-8. Language file ca_ES was updated. Thanks to René Mérou. Language file de_DE was updated. Thanks to Savi G and Michael Vinzenz. Package live-boot was updated to 1:20240525.drbl1. Package live-config was updated to 11.0.5+drbl3.
