The openSUSE team have announced the avilability of a new development snapshot for openSUSE Leap. The new snapshot is lablled openSUSE 15.4 Alpha: "Alpha releases of openSUSE Leap 15.4 are now available for download on get.opensuse.org. The fourth minor release of Leap 15 has entered its alpha development stage. During the Alpha phase, regular Alpha images will be built on a rolling basis until mid-February when the point release is scheduled to transition to a Beta build phase. The beta submission deadline is February 16, according to the roadmap. The Beta phase has a similar model until the General Availability of the release. The rolling builds stop after the Beta phase is complete and Leap transitions into a maintenance and security update phase upon beoming public available."

EndeavourOS 21.4
EndeavourOS is a rolling release Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. The project's latest snapshot is version 21.4 which includes several new improvements and fixes. "NVIDIA users have a new sanity check for NVIDIA and kernel updates. The check helps preventing boot problems after update. Apps UpdateInTerminal, eos-update-notifier and welcome include this update check. Welcome has a new button DE: information (DE is the installed desktop name) and opens the browser to the dedicated DE info page. Our eos-apps-info is added by default. The eos-apps-info-helper is now capable of showing information about many more apps, and it supports using a web browser which can be configured by yourself. An addition to paccache-service-manager has been made, which now ships with a checkbox for deleting the cache of uninstalled packages. A new and improved schedule configuration window for eos-update-notifier. The function grub-tools now adds info and warnings when needed about variable GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER in /etc/default/grub. An improvement on AKM that marks the current running kernel with the * symbol."

GhostBSD is a desktop-oriented, rolling release operating system based on FreeBSD. The project's latest snapshot adds a new tool for tracking the version of the rolling release operating system. "This new ISO contains kernel, OS, and software updates. In addition, I added a new command-line software called ghostbsd-version that gives you the GhostBSD version, FreeBSD version, kernel version, and OS version. At the date of this release, if you run ghostbsd-version or ghostbsd-version -v, it should output 21.11.24. This version number will be increment by the date of new packages built on packages every update performed. The ISO version is now following the last package's build version instead of an ISO's build date in the hope of removing confusion about the ISO version."

The Q4OS project produces a Debian-based distribution which is available in KDE Plasma and Trinity desktop flavours. The project's latest release is Q4OS 4.7 which is based on Debian 11 "Bullseye" and which features an update to the Trinity Desktop Environment. The release announcement reads: "A significant update to the fourth Q4OS stable series codenamed 'Gemini' has been released. This upgrade includes set of security and bug fixes, receives the most recent Debian Bullseye 11.1. as well as Trinity desktop environment R14.0.11 stable versions. Trinity desktop maintenance release of the R14 series is intended to bring bug fixes, while preserving overall stability. You can find the complete Trinity desktop release notes and new features list at the Trinity desktop environment website. We are currently pushing all the changes mentioned above into the Q4OS repositories, automatic update process will take care about to update computers for current users."

The MX Linux team has announced the launch of MX Linux 21. The new release is available in three editions: Xfce, KDE Plasma, and Fluxbox. "We are pleased to offer MX-21 for your use. Things that are new in MX-21: Debian 11 'Bullseye' base. New and updated applications. New installer partition selection/management area, including some LVM support if LVM volume exists already and the ability to set existing data partitions to be mounted on install. New UEFI live system boot menus. UEFI live users can now select your live boot options (persistence, etc) from the boot menu and sub-menus rather than using the previous console menus.
