FreeNAS 11.3
"We are pleased to announce the general availability of FreeNAS 11.3-RELEASE. The 11.3 series represents a year-long development effort and brings with it a wide variety of improvements and fixes. FreeNAS 11.3 includes many new features and improvements, with the following highlights: re-implemented Replication Engine, allows up to 10GB replication speeds (a 10x improvement), resume support on failed transfers, as well as ability to replicate locally; ACL Manager - allows setup and management of SMB ACL's directly via the FreeNAS web interface; SMB Shadow Copies are now enabled by default for new shares - note that Snapshots will only show up in Windows 'Previous Versions Tab' if the snapshot USED size shows changes to the file; a repository of Community plugins has been created, users can now create and distribute 3rd party plugins which are not officially iXsystems supported."

The deepin project has published a new update to the distribution's 20.x series. deepin 20.1 features a new kernel, Linux 5.8, along with bringing the rest of the operating system up to date with Debian 10.6. There have also been a number of performance improvements. "In deepin 20.1, the operating efficiency of processors, network transmission and response, file reading and writing, and graphics display has been significantly enhanced by overall optimization of kernel configurations and codes; and conventional operations have been fully optimized. You will enjoy smoother experiences and faster responses from these improvements. Control Center: The new power settings - Power Plans supports three modes: Balanced, Power Saver, and High Performance. When ultimate performance is required, the high-performance mode offers smoother user experiences."

Kwort Linux 4.3.5
Kwort Linux is a CRUX-based Linux distribution that uses the GTK+ toolkit and the Openbox window manager. Its most prominent feature is a package manager, called kpkg. The project's latest version, Kwort 4.3.5, introduces updated kernel, compiler, and package management packages. The distribution's news page lists the highlights of the release: "I'm very proud to announce this new release which shows how the project got to a very mature level. New goodies included in the user interface, a few bug fixes from the previous release and of course, the latest stable packages. Let's talk a little of what we have here: Linux kernel 5.10.1 - yes, the brand new Linux LTS release. New toolchain including glibc 2.32, GCC 10.2.0 and Binutils 2.35.1. kpkg 130. Mirror kdb files are now included in the installation to avoid repeating issues from the past. Latest browsers including Google Chrome 87.0.4280.88 and Mozilla Firefox 84.0. The newest version of Brave is already available on the mirrors. kwort-tools now includes encryption support through /etc/rc.d/encryption using /etc/etab (format is 'directory' 'key file') and we have added a few improvements on kwort-mixer to add more stability. LLVM 11.0.0 is also included."

Mageia 8 Beta 2
"We are happy to announce the release of Mageia 8 beta 2. After a long time since beta 1, we look forward to hearing your feedback and thoughts so that we can continue to get Mageia 8 ready for release. As we said in a previous post, a lot of work had to be done for the base system upgrade, Java, Linux kernel and the graphical stack. These upgrades are now in a state that allows for the beta 2 ISO images to be built and tested. Here are some of the major packages included in this release: Linux kernel 5.9.12 (5.10 will land in shortly), glibc 2.32, GCC 10.2.1, rpm 4.16.1, Chromium 87, Firefox 78.5, LibreOffice 7.0.4, Plasma Desktop 5.20.4, GNOME 3.38.1, Cinnamon 4.8.2, Xfce 4.15.2, MATE 1.24. PHP is provided in release 8.0."

"The CRUX team is happy to announce the release of CRUX 3.6. CRUX 3.6 comes with a multilib toolchain which includes glibc 2.32, GCC 10.2.0, Binutils 2.35.1, Linux kernel 5.4.80 (LTS), X.Org 7.7 and X.Org Server 1.20.10. The ISO image is processed with isohybrid and is suitable for burning on a DVD and putting on a USB drive. UEFI support is available during installation with dosfstools, efibootmgr and grub2-efi/syslinux. Because all bootloaders are in our opt collection now, LILO is no longer installed as a core port by default. To give the possibility to select a bootloader we have added a new menu to setup. Important notes: glibc depends at buildtime on Python 3 now, Python 3 and its dependencies have been moved from the opt collection to core; glibc removed rpc and nsl stuff, we've added the libnsl and rpcsvc-proto ports; we renamed openrdate to rdate, jdk to jdk8-bin and mesa3d to mesa...."
