EndeavourOS is a rolling release Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. The project aims to be a spiritual successor to Antergos - providing an easy setup and pre-configured desktop environment. The project's latest snapshot is EndeavourOS 2021.02.03 and it includes a large collection of updated packages. A number of fixes and features have been added to this release: "We've also improved some features on the live environment and the installation process to make the installation a smoother sail. Reflector-auto has been removed since Reflector has this feature shipped by default The Welcome app now supports Brazillian-Portuguese. Alacrity has been added as one of the supported terminals for our native apps. You can now choose a swapfile from the installer in addition to a traditional swap partition when an automatic partition scheme is chosen. reflector-bash-completion has been added to make the use of Reflector easier. When chosen online install, mirrors will be automatically updated for a faster install and to decrease the possibility of a failed install caused by unresponsive mirrors. Our newest mirror in India has been added to improve the experience for our Indian users. During install, the user will now be added to the sys rfkill wheel users group by default, we have removed some of the legacy groups that were causing issues with drivers and CUPS."

Version 4.15 of Tails (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), a Debian-based live image designed for anonymous browsing of internet websites, has been released. As usual, the new version fixes a handful of security issues: "Tails 4.15 is out. This release fixes known security vulnerabilities. You should upgrade as soon as possible. New features: add a 'Don't Show Again' button to the security notification when starting Tails in a virtual machine. Changes and updates: update Tor Browser to 10.0.9; update Thunderbird to 78.6.0; update Linux kernel to 5.9.15 - this should improve the support for newer hardware (graphics, Wi-Fi). Fixed problems: fix support for the Ledger hardware wallets in Electrum; fix sharing mobile data, also called USB tethering, on iOS 14 or later; clarify the error message when starting from a USB stick that is too small. Known issues: none specific to this release. Tails 4.16 is scheduled for February 23."

GhostBSD is a desktop-oriented operating system based on FreeBSD. The project has released a new snapshot which reduces its memory footprint on live media. This release also removes the guided partitioning option which would take over an entire disk with a UFS partition. "I am happy to announce the availability of the new ISO 21.01.15. This new ISO comes with a clean-up of packages that include removing LibreOffice and Telegram from the default selection. We did this to bring the zfs RW live file systems to run without problem on 4GB of ram machine. We also removed the UFS full disk option from the installer. Users can still use custom partitions to setup UFS partition, but we discourage it. We also fixed the Next button's restriction in the custom partition related to some bug that people reported. We also fix the missing default locale setup and added the default setup for Linux Steam, not to forget this ISO includes kernel, userland and numerous application updates."

The Linux Mint team has announced the release of Linux Mint 20.1, a long-term support release which will continue to receive updates until 2025. The project s newest version features a new web apps manager which will assist users in setting up websites to act more like native applications. The project is also including the Hypnotix IPTV application and the ability to mark files as favourites for quick access. Time and time again we need to access the same files. Up until Linux Mint 20.1 we would remember where they were stored and slowly get to them using the file manager, bookmark their containing folder to get to them faster, look in the recently opened document section, hoping to find them in there, clutter our desktop with direct links... Well, there s a much better way now If you re working on a file and you know you access it often, right-click it and select Add to Favorites . You ll see a little star pop up in your panel. That s where all favorite files are, just one click away. You ll also find them in your application menu.
