This version brings a variety of improvements, bug fixes and component updates: "At long last, the Qubes 4.1.0 stable release has arrived. The culmination of years of development, this release brings a host of new features, major improvements and numerous bug fixes. The GUI domain is a qube separate from dom0 that handles all display-related tasks and some system management. This separation allows us to more securely isolate dom0 while granting the user more flexibility with respect to graphical interfaces. Qrexec is is an RPC (remote procedure call) mechanism that allows one qube to do something inside another qube. The qrexec policy system enforces 'who can do what and where.' Qubes 4.1 brings a new qrexec policy format, significant performance improvements, support for socket services and policy notifications that make it easier to detect problems."

deepin 20.4
Version 20.4 of deepin, a desktop Linux distribution based on the latest stable Debian release and featuring the Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE), has been released. This version updates the stable Linux kernel to the 5.15 branch and provides various other usability improvements: "In deepin 20.4, the kernels are updated for better compatibility - the LTS kernel is upgraded to version 5.10.83 and the stable kernel is upgraded to version 5.15.6, system vulnerabilities are fixed for enhanced security, and lots of functions are developed and optimized to solve issues from users and to improve user experience. In this release, the 'Privacy Policy' in the system installer is updated and the logic for creating partitions is optimized - if there is an existing EFI partition, there is no need to create the EFI partition again. Based on user feedback, the Chromium browser is upgraded - tab groups and collections are added and quick tab search and share are supported, so that tab management can become more convenient and diversified. A new monitoring plugin, which detects the CPU and memory usage, is added to System Monitor."

Besides shipping with an updated base system, the new version also adds the Ventoy utility, an open-source tool for creating bootable USB drives from ISO image files: "The Emmabunt?s Collective is happy to announce the release of the Emmabunt?s 'Debian' Edition 4 1.01 update (32-bit and 64-bit), based on the Debian 11.2 'Bullseye' distribution and supporting both Xfce and LXQt desktop environments. This new update of our distribution brings the addition of the Ventoy utility as part of our re-use campaign launched in early September 2020 in collaboration with our friends from Debian-Facile and Tugaleres.com in France, as well as Blabla Linux in Belgium, as we have just put online a second version of our refurbishing USB flash drive now based on Ventoy. The advantage of using Ventoy instead of MultiSystem is that it allows the creation of this key on GNU/Linux and Windows."
