Pop!_OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution featuring a custom GNOME desktop. Pop!_OS is designed to have a minimal amount of clutter on the desktop without distractions in order to allow the user to focus on work. The distribution has published a new development release, Pop!_OS 20.04 Beta, which offers window tiling and includes support for Flatpak packages with the Flathub repository enabled. "Pop!_OS 20.04 features automatic window tiling. To activate tiling mode, click the tiling menu icon at the top right of the screen and toggle on Tile Windows. Open and newly launched windows will be automatically tiled. Toggling off Tile Windows will revert to floating mode. Click the tiling menu icon again and choose Keyboard Shortcuts. This help application will show you how to navigate, move, and resize windows all with your keyboard. Type Super + / to activate the new application switcher and launcher. Instead of Super + Tabbing through application icons, simply type Super + / and start typing the name of the application you want to switch to or launch. Pop!_Shop now includes Flatpak application support and the Flathub application repository by default. The source of applications is visible when viewing applications details."

Zorin OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution designed especially for newcomers to Linux. It has a Windows-like graphical user interface and many programs similar to those found in Windows. Zorin OS also comes with an application that lets users run many Windows programs. We are happy to announce the release of our latest version, Ubuntu Studio 16.10 'Yakkety Yak'. As a regular version, it will be supported for 9 months. Since it's just out, you may experience some issues, so you might want to wait a bit before upgrading. Changes in this release: new default Numix Blue theme; added DGEdit and DrumGizmo; replaced recordMyDesktop with vokoscreen; replaced GNOME Color Manager with dispcalGUI; added Gpick; added Calibre, PDF-Shuffler and Plume Creator; Krita has been temporarily removed from Yakkety Yak 16.10 due to build issues, but should be brought back as an updated version soon, and be installed automatically when upgrading your packages.

We are pleased to announce the release of the next version of our distro based on the solid 16.10 Ubuntu release. This is our first release that follows Ubuntu release cycle - we have worked on getting closely aligned our alpha and two betas in the same manner as Ubuntu and the other official community flavours. Based on 16.04.1 experiences, feedback and suggestions we have received from our users, the new release comes with a lot of new features, fixes and optimizations: installation in any language - we ship with more language packs now which should mean a faster install time; support for full disk encryption as well as home folder encryption; latest Budgie desktop 10.2.7 with various enhancements and fixes thanks to our friends from Solus.
