Linux Lite 5.0 RC1
The new version is based on Ubuntu 20.04: "Linux Lite 5.0 RC1 is now available for testing. This is the most feature rich, complete Linux Lite release to date. This is the release many people have been waiting for. Changes: UEFI is now supported out of the box, it is recommended that you disable Secure Boot even though it will work - it's just a huge hassle to have it enabled; Gufw firewall has been replaced by the highly configurable FireWallD; new Updater notifier, enabled by default to notify twice per day; latest WhiskerMenu with new default sort (Install Updates is now at the top of Favorites); Paint now added to Accessories; Xfce Screensaver now included, disabled by default; updates and other software during slideshow will now install your hardware drivers - e.g. if you have an NVIDIA video card, they will be installed before you reboot...."

Pop!_OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution featuring a custom GNOME desktop. Pop!_OS is designed to have a minimal amount of clutter on the desktop without distractions in order to allow the user to focus on work. The distribution has published a new development release, Pop!_OS 20.04 Beta, which offers window tiling and includes support for Flatpak packages with the Flathub repository enabled. "Pop!_OS 20.04 features automatic window tiling. To activate tiling mode, click the tiling menu icon at the top right of the screen and toggle on Tile Windows. Open and newly launched windows will be automatically tiled. Toggling off Tile Windows will revert to floating mode. Click the tiling menu icon again and choose Keyboard Shortcuts. This help application will show you how to navigate, move, and resize windows all with your keyboard. Type Super + / to activate the new application switcher and launcher. Instead of Super + Tabbing through application icons, simply type Super + / and start typing the name of the application you want to switch to or launch. Pop!_Shop now includes Flatpak application support and the Flathub application repository by default. The source of applications is visible when viewing applications details."

Lucas Villa Real has announced the availability of the first beta snapshot of GoboLinux 017, an independently-developed Linux distribution whose most interesting feature is the complete rewrite of the UNIX filesystem hierarchy. The new release upgrades numerous base packages, while it continues to use the Awesome window manager as the preferred graphical user interface: "This is the second preview of GoboLinux 017. It updates several system packages and features the following improvements over 017 alpha: a new model for recipe management based on Git - users can now submit pull requests on GitHub or use the revamped ContributeRecipe tool to automate that process; recipes contributed that way are made available to other users as soon as PRs are approved and the Compile tool is fully aware of that new workflow; migration of AbsTk (our widget toolkit) to Qt 5 - we have a graphical installer again; removal of FiboSandbox, as we have been depending on UnionSandbox for a long time; massive simplification of Scripts and Compile along with assorted bug fixes."

Archman GNU/Linux is an Arch Linux-based distribution which features the Calamares system installer and a pre-configured desktop environment. The project's latest snapshot, version 2020-04, introduces a number of changes to the look of the Xfce desktop and its default icons. "In this release you will see a 70% centered panel at the bottom of the screen. With this panel's smart hiding feature, the entire screen will be in your use. We also grouped window tasks as icons only in the panel. In this release we have made many cosmetic changes. We set the Papirus icon set aside and decided to use the Surfn Arc icon set. In Archman Sample Files, we put information and visual files about Bal?kesir- Manyas which we introduced in this release. We've fixed many bugs you've detected in earlier release. We have also considered your recommendations. We tried to include your suggestions in this release."

AV Linux 2020.4.10 is the project's first release based on Debian 10: "AV Linux 2020.4.10 is released. What's new? Moved to Debian 10 'Buster'; new Linux 5.4.28 realtime and lowlatency kernels; new Systemback fork with NVMe support; added Pulseaudio Bluetooth module and BT support frontends; disabled automounting of external drives on live ISO image (it can be re-enabled post-install) - some users viewed automount as a security intrusion; removed all KDE libraries and Kdenlive - too much bulk and ISO image space for one application, it can easily be installed from Debian or Flatpak post-install; added latest KXStudio repositories compliant with Debian 'Buster'; added new Thunar custom actions, including sample editing and image manipulation; completely rewritten 'AV Linux Assistant' with many new features; consolidation of many small AV Linux scripts and apps into AV Linux Assistant; consolidation of extra plugins into a single 'avlinux-extra-plugins' package...."
