IPFire is a Linux distribution that focuses on easy setup, good handling and high level of security and is mostly used on routers and firewalls. The project's latest release focused on bug fixes and minor upgrades, including fixing IPsec certificate generation in some situations. The release announcement shares the highlights: "An edge case related to bug #13138, which caused IPsec root/host certificate generation to fail on the first attempt only, has been fixed. While editing OpenVPN static IP address pools, spaces are now handled correctly again. udev rules for LVM volumes have been fixed, allowing for configured LVM volumes to start properly on boot again. Remove entries for additional mass storage via the web interface of the ExtraHD add-on have been fixed, partially resolving #12863. Filesystem journal features are now always enabled for cloud images, and as soon as a disk with SMART support is detected. misc-progs, the safety net between IPFire's web interface and the core system, have been improved under the hood to allow for better return code enumeration. Stéphane Pautrel has contributed improvements to the French translation of IPFire's web interface."

Fatdog64 Linux is a small, desktop, 64-bit Linux distribution. Originally created as a derivative of Puppy Linux with additional applications. The project's latest release, Fatdog64 814, is the final version in the 8xx series with future releases moving on to a 9xx base. Though it is the last of the series, version 814 still includes some key updates and new features. The release notes list these changes: "This is the final release of Fatdog64 800 series. The Debian project has announced the release of Debian 12 "Bookworm", a new stable version which will receive five years of security updates. The new version shifts the way the project handles non-free firmware in an attempt to make Debian more compatible with a range of consumer hardware. "Bookworm will be supported for the next 5 years thanks to the combined work of the Debian Security team and the Debian Long Term Support team. Following the 2022 General Resolution about non-free firmware, we have introduced a new archive area making it possible to separate non-free firmware from the other non-free packages: non-free-firmware. Most non-free firmware packages have been moved from non-free to non-free-firmware. This separation makes it possible to build a variety of official installation images. Debian 12 Bookworm ships with several desktop environments, such as: GNOME 43, KDE Plasma 5.27, LXDE 11, LXQt 1.2.0, MATE 1.26, Xfce 4.18. This release contains over 11,089 new packages for a total count of 64,419 packages, while over 6,296 packages have been removed as obsolete."
