"The Ubuntu Studio team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu Studio 24.04 LTS, code-named 'Noble Numbat'. This marks Ubuntu Studio's 34th release. This release is a long-term support release and as such, it is supported for 3 years (36 months, until April 2027). In cooperation with the Ubuntu Desktop team, we have an all-new desktop installer. This installer uses the underlying code of the Ubuntu Server installer ('Subiquity') which has been in use for years, with a frontend coded in 'Flutter'. Be on the lookout for a special easter egg when the graphical environment for the installer first starts. For those of you who have been long-time users of Ubuntu Studio since our early days (even before Xfce), you will notice exactly what it is. 4MLinux 45.0

4MLinux is a small, indepedent distribution which focuses on four areas: network services, games, multimedia, and system rescue. The project's latest release, version 45.0, offers video scaling, new games, and upgrades the OpenSSL version to OpenSSL 3 from 1.1. "As always, the new major release has some new features. Lots of new printing drivers have been added. FFmpeg in 4MLinux now offers improved support for video scaling (resizing) via zimg library. Additionally, FFmpeg and MPlayer make us of Bauer stereophonic-to-binaural DSP effect library (libbs2b) for better handling of stereo audio. Classic CHAMP Kong game has been added to the 4MLinux DOSBox package. Basilisk web browser is now available a downloadable extension. And finally, OpenSSL in 4MLinux has been system-wide upgraded to its version 3."

OpenMediaVault is a Network-Attached Storage (NAS) solution based on Debian GNU/Linux. The project's latest release, OpenMediaVault 7.0, is based on Debian 12 introduces new notification and monitoring tools to make managing the NAS more efficient. "The changelog will list all improvements in this version alongside the following: upgrade to Debian 12 'Bookworm'; package updates and notification will be handled by unattended upgrades; relocate Linux MD device (software RAID) management into a separate plugin; add support for network ethernet devices using device tree aliases; replace the cron-apt package with unattended-upgrades and apticron, the former ensures that security updates are installed automatically and the latter ensures that notifications are sent when new package updates are available, the apt-listchanges package will send you an email with a summary of the latest changes whenever packages are upgraded; add the ability to authenticate an RPC call by using the X-OPENMEDIAVAULT-SESSIONID header instead of a cookie...."

"The FreeBSD Release Engineering team is pleased to announce the availability of FreeBSD 13.3-RELEASE. This is the fourth release of the stable/13 branch. Some of the highlights: LLVM and the Clang compiler have been updated to version 17.0.6; OpenSSH has been updated to version 9.6p1; Sendmail has been updated to version 8.18.1; ZFS has been updated to OpenZFS 2.1.14; there have been many stability fixes to native and LinuxKPI-based WiFi drivers; the NFS server can now run in an appropriately configured vnet jail. FreeBSD 13.3-RELEASE is now available for the amd64, i386, powerpc, powerpc64, powerpc64le, powerpcspe, armv6, armv7, aarch64, and riscv64 architectures."
