Kali Linux is a Debian-based distribution with a collection of security and forensics tools. The distribution's team have released Kali Linux 2021.2 which includes two new significant tools: Kaboxer and Kali-Tweaks. Kaboxer allows the developers to package troublesome software in containers which are presented in a transparent fashion to the user like any other package. Kali-Tweaks helps the user customize the distribution. "Announcing Kali-Tweaks! This is our little helping hand for Kali users, with the idea to help customize Kali to your own personal taste quickly, simply, and the correct way. This should help you to stop doing repetitive tasks. Currently Kali-Tweaks will help out with: Meta packages - Installing/removing groups of tools, which may not have been available while installing Kali if you did not use the installer image. The Amnesic Incognito Live System (Tails) is a Debian-based live DVD/USB with the goal of providing complete Internet anonymity for the user. The project's latest release, Tails 4.20, introduces a new way to connect to the Internet using the Tor Connection Assistant. "Tails 4.20 completely changes how to connect to the Tor network from Tails. After connecting to a local network, a Tor Connection assistant helps you connect to the Tor network. This new assistant is most useful for users who are at high risk of physical surveillance, under heavy network censorship, or on a poor Internet connection: It protects better the users who need to go unnoticed if using Tor could look suspicious to someone who monitors their Internet connection (parental control, abusive partner, school or work network, etc.). It allows people who need to connect to Tor using bridges to configure them without having to change the default configuration in the Welcome Screen. It helps first-time users understand how to connect to a local Wi-Fi network. It provides feedback while connecting to Tor and helps troubleshoot network problems. We know that this assistant is still far from being perfect, even if we have been working on this assistant since February."

Emmabuntues is a lightweight, Debian-based distribution featuring the Xfce and LXQt desktop environments. The project's latest development snapshot is based on Debian's Testing "Bullseye" branch. "This update of our new distribution takes up the basis of Emmabuntues DE3 under Debian 11 Bullseye, and its latest changes concerning the removal of proprietary software in favor of free alternatives, like DWService replacing Teamviewer, Jami replacing Skype and the complete deletion of Adobe Flash. This version exhibits the new Ice graphic theme created by Juliette Taka, the graphic artist who realized numerous wallpapers for Debian, as well as a renovated logo, which new look was designed by Jean-Claude aka JCZ, who was also part of the Debian wallpapers projects. We want to warmly thank them here, for their outstanding graphic contribution to the Emmabunt?s DE4 distribution, and concerning both the dark and light themes.
